ResinIt – Terms and Conditions

Version 2.0 – March 2026

At ResinIt, every piece we create carries deep personal meaning. These Terms and Conditions are designed to provide clarity and protection for both you and our business throughout the preservation process.

By placing an order with ResinIt, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms set out below.

1. Our Services

ResinIt provides bespoke resin preservation services, including:

  • Flower preservation

  • Ashes preservation jewellery and keepsakes

  • Memorial and decorative resin items

Each item is individually handcrafted. Due to the artistic nature of the process, every piece is unique.

2. Sending Flowers, Ashes & Inclusions

2.1 Flower Condition & Natural Changes

Flowers are organic materials and will naturally change during the drying process. Colours may deepen, lighten, fade, darken, or become translucent. Some flower varieties preserve better than others.

While professional techniques are used, exact colour retention and structural integrity cannot be guaranteed.

Customers are responsible for ensuring flowers are sent promptly and in suitable condition. ResinIt is not liable for deterioration prior to arrival.

2.2 Ashes & Inclusions

Ashes and inclusions must be securely packaged and clearly labelled with your name and order number.

Unless otherwise agreed, only a small portion of ashes will be used. Remaining ashes will be returned using appropriate packaging. Return postage is at the customer’s risk unless insured shipping is requested.

Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international regulations regarding the shipment and import of cremated remains. ResinIt does not provide legal advice on international import requirements.

2.3 Delivery to ResinIt

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for delivery to our workshop. Tracked and insured postage is strongly recommended.

ResinIt is not liable for loss or damage before materials arrive at our premises.

3. The Preservation Process

Flowers are carefully dried using silica gel or other suitable methods before being cast in resin.

Resin curing is a multi-stage process and may take several days to weeks depending on size and complexity.

Estimated completion times are provided as guidance only and are not guaranteed.

Design preferences are welcomed and carefully considered. However, final artistic interpretation remains at the discretion of ResinIt.

If a significant production fault occurs, ResinIt reserves the right to repair or remake the item. Minor air bubbles, small surface variations, and natural resin characteristics are not considered faults.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Booking Deposit

A non-refundable booking deposit may be required to secure your place in our production schedule.

4.2 Flower Preservation Payment Structure

For all flower preservation services:

  • 50% of the total order value is payable upon receipt of the flowers at our premises.

  • Any deposit already paid will be deducted from this amount.

  • Work will not commence until this payment has been received.

An itemised invoice will be issued once flowers have safely arrived.

4.3 Final Payment

The remaining balance is due upon completion and must be paid in full before dispatch.

ResinIt reserves the right to withhold shipment until full payment has cleared.

If final payment is not received within 60 days of completion notification, ResinIt reserves the right to charge reasonable storage fees and/or dispose of the item after reasonable attempts to contact the customer.

5. Shipping & Handling

5.1 Packaging Standards

Each completed piece is carefully and securely packaged using appropriate protective materials before dispatch.

Once a parcel has been handed to the courier and proof of dispatch obtained, risk transfers to the customer.

5.2 UK Shipping

Shipping costs are calculated based on size, weight, and value.

ResinIt is not liable for courier delays, loss, or damage once dispatched.

5.3 International Shipping

International shipping is available subject to the following conditions:

  • All international shipping costs are payable by the customer.

  • Any customs duties, import taxes, handling charges, or local fees are the sole responsibility of the customer.

  • ResinIt has no control over customs processing times or delays.

  • Returned parcels due to unpaid customs charges will incur additional shipping costs.

VAT treatment will be applied in accordance with UK legislation.

5.4 Heat & Environmental Conditions

Resin can be affected by extreme temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight.

ResinIt is not liable for warping, surface distortion, clouding, or other changes caused by:

  • High temperatures during transit

  • Storage in hot environments

  • Improper care after delivery

Customers are responsible for following care guidance provided.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

All preservation items are bespoke and personalised. As such, they are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Flower Preservation

  • Cancellation within 24 hours: Full refund of deposit.

  • Cancellation within 14 days (once drying has commenced): 25% of deposit refunded.

  • Cancellation after 14 days: Deposit non-refundable.

Ashes Preservation

Cancellation within 7 days of placing the order: Full refund.
After this time, costs incurred will be deducted.

Due to the personalised nature of our work, refunds are not available once work has commenced, except where required under statutory consumer rights or in the case of demonstrable error by ResinIt.

7. Quality & Natural Characteristics

Each piece is handcrafted and will contain natural variations.

Small air bubbles, subtle texture differences, slight asymmetry, and minor surface characteristics are inherent to resin artistry and are not considered defects.

The appearance of ashes within resin may vary due to natural differences in texture and density.

8. Liability

ResinIt is not liable for:

  • Loss or damage before materials reach our premises

  • Courier or customs delays

  • Environmental damage during transit

  • Indirect or consequential losses

Maximum liability in any circumstance is limited to the total amount paid for the preservation service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where unlawful under applicable law.

9. Force Majeure

ResinIt shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, postal strikes, illness, supply shortages, or government restrictions.

10. Photography & Marketing

ResinIt reserves the right to photograph completed items for use in portfolios, website content, social media, promotional materials, and advertising.

By placing an order, the customer grants ResinIt a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use images of the completed item unless privacy is requested in writing at the time of ordering.

Personal identifying details may be obscured where appropriate. ResinIt will always exercise discretion and sensitivity when sharing memorial pieces.

11. Intellectual Property

All designs, processes, photographs, and content remain the intellectual property of ResinIt and may not be reproduced without written permission.

12. Privacy

Customer information is used solely for the purpose of fulfilling orders and providing services and will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.

ResinIt may send a follow-up email after completion inviting feedback or a review. Participation is optional and customers may opt out at any time.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.

Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
