Resin Jewellery Care Instructions
Resin jewellery is durable, but proper care will help ensure your pieces remain beautiful for years to come. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your jewellery in the best possible condition and avoid the need for replacements
Scrapes & Damage
Avoid bumping, scratching, or sleeping in your resin jewellery, as this may cause damage. If your piece gets damaged, send us a photo, and we’ll offer advice. Some minor scrapes can easily be fixed with a sand and top coat.
Water Exposure
Resin is water-resistant, not waterproof, so avoid submerging your jewellery. Always remove your pieces before showering, swimming, or washing up to prevent damage.
Sunlight
Store your jewellery away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure can cause resin to soften or discolour over time.
Chemicals & Cleaning Products
Keep your jewellery away from harsh chemicals, including perfumes, hairspray, nail polish remover, hand sanitiser, and cleaning products. These substances can react with the resin, leading to yellowing, scaling, or even breakdown of the piece.
Caring for Silver Jewellery
Silver naturally tarnishes over time. Tarnishing speed varies based on humidity, air quality, and body chemistry. Some jewellers rhodium plate their silver for extra protection, but this coating wears off over time.
You can use a polishing for metal care, but please make sure not to use it on the resin detailing as this could lead to a breakdown of the piece over time. A microfibre cloth can be used on the resin to remove finger prints and residue.
For professional polishing, ensure jewellers protect the resin part of your piece.
