Step-by-Step Guide
How to Prepare Your Blooms for Shipping
1
Gather Your Materials
You will need:
A packaging box big enough for your flowers. Paper towel / Newspaper, Packaging Tape, Aluminium Foil, Scissors, Paper and Pen
2
Protect and Hydrate Stems
Dampen some paper towels and wrap it around the stems of your flowers. Then wrap the foil around the damp towels to secure to retain the moisture. Please DO NOT use cling film or plastic bags as this could cause your blooms to sweat.
3
Prepare Your Shipping Box
Make a bed for your flowers using scrunched up newspaper or tissue. In the center, make a well for your flowers to sit snuggly in. If you still have the packing box from your florist, place it in the well to hold your flowers in place.
4
Place Your Flowers
Once your flowers are in place inside the box, fill the sides of the box with scrunched up paper or tissue. There should be enough to protect the blooms from moving around during transit.
5
Adding Additional Items
If you are also shipping inclusions, please ensure they are in a secure bag and placed near the bottom of the box so your flowers are not damaged by them during transit. Include a covering letter with your full name and contents of your package.
6
Info for Courier
Seal your box with packaging tape, ensuring that there are no gaps for anything to fall out.
Your package should be clearly marked as Fragile. If you are shipping your flowers standing in the box, also make sure to add “This way up ↑”.
