Caring for Your Flowers on the Day
Your flowers are a beautiful part of your special day, and a little extra care can make a big difference when it comes to preserving them.
Here are my top tips for keeping them looking their best:
π§ Keep them hydrated. Whenever your bouquet isn’t being used, place the stems in a clean vase with fresh, cool water.
βοΈ Avoid heat and sunlight. Keep your flowers away from direct sunlight, radiators and hot cars.
πΈ Handle with care. Try not to touch the petals unnecessarily, as bruising can become more noticeable during preservation.
π Avoid perfumes and sprays. Hairspray, perfume and other products can damage delicate petals.
π° Nominate a flower helper! Ask a bridesmaid, friend or family member to look after your bouquet once the celebrations are over.
Remember: The fresher your flowers are when they reach me, the better their chances of preserving beautifully.

Keeping Your Flowers Fresh After Your Special Day
The celebrations might be over, but your flowers still need a little TLC before they make their journey to ResinIt!
Here’s how to keep them looking their best until they’re ready to ship:
π§ Keep them hydrated. Place your bouquet in a clean vase with fresh, cool water, ensuring the cut stems can drink.
βοΈ Trim the stems if needed. If possible, trim a small amount from the bottom of the stems using clean scissors or secateurs.
πΏ Remove submerged foliage. Any leaves sitting below the waterline should be removed to help keep the water clean.
βοΈ Find a cool spot. Store your flowers somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight, radiators and other sources of heat.
πΈ Avoid unnecessary handling. Try not to touch or rearrange the flower heads, as delicate petals can bruise easily.
π« Never freeze your flowers. Freezing fresh flowers in a domestic freezer can damage their delicate structure.
Getting Married At the Weekend?
If your wedding is on a Saturday or Sunday, keep your flowers hydrated and somewhere cool until they can be dispatched safely.
Please arrange delivery with me in advance and avoid sending flowers when they could be held in a courier depot over a weekend or bank holiday.
How to Package Your Flowers for Shipping
Your flowers are precious, so it’s important they’re packaged carefully to protect them during their journey to ResinIt.
Follow these simple steps to help them arrive safely.
STEP 1 | Prepare Your Flowers
Remove your flowers from their vase shortly before packaging and allow any excess water to drain from the stems.
Handle the blooms gently and avoid touching the petals unnecessarily.
STEP 2 | Keep the Stems Hydrated
Wrap the cut ends of your flower stems in slightly damp kitchen roll, then carefully secure the kitchen roll with aluminium foil.
The kitchen roll should be damp, not soaking wet. Make sure the foil is wrapped securely around the stems to help prevent moisture escaping into the box.
Important: Keep the flower heads and petals completely dry. Never wrap your flowers in plastic bags or clingfilm.

STEP 3 | Protect Your Flower Heads
Gently surround your flowers with clean, dry tissue paper or soft packing paper to protect the delicate petals during transit.
Avoid wrapping the flower heads too tightly, as this can bruise or crush the petals.
Important: Never place damp tissue paper directly against the flower heads. Only the cut ends of the stems should be kept moist.
STEP 4 | Choose a Sturdy Cardboard Box
Choose a strong, sturdy cardboard box that’s large enough to comfortably hold your flowers without bending or crushing them.
Make sure there’s enough room around the bouquet for protective packaging, particularly around the delicate flower heads.
Important: Never force your flowers into a box that’s too small. It’s much better to use a slightly larger box with extra cushioning.
STEP 5 | Secure Your Flowers Inside the Box
Carefully place your flowers inside the cardboard box, ensuring the flower heads have plenty of room and aren’t pressed against the sides.
Use scrunched-up packing paper or clean tissue paper to fill any empty spaces and prevent your flowers from moving around during transit.
Pay particular attention to supporting the stems and protecting the delicate flower heads.
Important: Your flowers should be secure without being tightly packed. Avoid placing heavy packaging materials directly on top of the blooms.

STEP 6 | Include Your Details
Before sealing your box, please include a note with the following information:
- Your full name
- Your order or booking reference
- Your contact telephone number
- Your wedding or special occasion date
This helps me quickly identify your flowers and match them to your booking when they arrive.
Important: Place your details inside the box rather than relying solely on the shipping label.
STEP 7 | Seal Your Parcel Securely
Before sealing your box, double-check that your flowers are well protected and cannot move around during transit.
Close the box carefully and secure all openings with strong parcel tape.
Make sure your delivery label is clearly visible and securely attached to the outside of the box.
Important: Your flowers are delicate and perishable, so please use a tracked next-day delivery service and arrange your delivery date with ResinIt beforehand.

π Let Me Know When to Expect Your Flowers
Before sending your flowers, please get in touch to let me know the date you expect them to arrive.
This is really important so I can make arrangements to receive your precious flowers and begin the preservation process as soon as possible.
π Use a Tracked Next-Day Delivery Service
I strongly recommend using a tracked next-day delivery service to minimise the time your flowers spend in transit.
Please keep your tracking information until your flowers have been safely delivered.
π« Avoid Friday Dispatches
Please do not dispatch your flowers on a Friday, as delays could result in them sitting in a courier depot over the weekend.
Remember that bank holidays can also affect delivery times, so please plan accordingly.

Important Things to Remember
A few important reminders before sending your precious flowers:
π« No plastic bags or clingfilm. These can trap moisture around your flowers and encourage mould.
π§ Damp stems, dry petals. Only the cut ends of the stems should be wrapped in slightly damp kitchen roll and foil. Keep the flower heads dry.
π¦ Protect, don’t squash. Use a sturdy cardboard box with plenty of paper-based cushioning.
βοΈ Avoid heat and direct sunlight. Keep your flowers somewhere cool until they’re ready to be dispatched.
π Tracked next-day delivery. Always use a tracked next-day service and avoid Friday dispatches.
π Keep me informed. Contact me with your expected delivery date and send me your tracking details once your flowers are on their way.
π Natural changes can happen. Fresh flowers are delicate, and some bruising, discolouration or changes in appearance may occur before or during preservation.
